Think to yourself... What companies would send gift baskets often? Send them one with your company information.
Or, organize a contest where the prize is one of your baskets. Say, for the approaching Mother's Day?
Charity auctions are another good way to promote your product. They will often leave out your business cards, and people like companies that support local charities.
Just a few thoughts! Good Luck!

Anybody have any marketing tips for a gift basket business?
If you do direct selling to consumer, you should try promoting via word of mouth marketing. Create an affiliate program where you pay your customers $X for referring their friends and family to buy your gift baskets.
Get a website. Make it look pretty and enable ecommerce so people around the world can directly buy these *awesome* gift baskets from you!
Think of getting a 1800 number. Try freedomvoice.com and you'll pay maybe $15/month at most.
Reply:I think the best way to promote your business and bring in new customers is to gain high visibility on line. after establishing a nicely designed website it is important for you to find your target market and continuously stay in touch with your current and future customers with news and special offers you never know when people are in search of a gift. direct mail and email marketing could be very efficient for your type of business. I use cmsolution.net for my marketing and it is working very well for me.
good luck!
Reply:Scan your local newspapers and Business Journals for local employee announcement. Like Blank company promoted so and so to project manager. Send a gift basket congratulations with a letter. They will remember you.
In November, prior to the holiday season, the biggest season send a basket of goodies to the people in company's who make those decisions on corporate gifts.
Join local business organizations - Chamber, real estate organizations, marketing and PR associations. Donate baskets as raffle prizes at events and gift out little chocolates as take aways
Real estate people might want to send their clients gift. When you see a house is sold - send the realtor a little gift basket on congrats with some information about your company
Just a few ideas
Reply:Have you considered teaching how to make gift baskets through your local adult education center (either through a high school or college)?
This may seem like it's working against you, but hear me out...
If you offer a 1-day workshop you will have your name and course information printed in the course catalog. This catalog will be mailed to every home in the community. Even if people don't take your class, they may peruse the offerings and learn that you sell gift baskets.
If 10 people attend your class, they may already be creative enough to make their own baskets. But when they talk about the class (and joy of making gift baskets) their friends may want to send someone a gift basket (but not have the time or talent to do it themselves). The person who attended your workshop can now refer you because you are amazingly creative.
During your workshop you could offer a discount coupon to people who attend or for them to give to a friend.
You may also be able to start a mailing list of people who've attended your workshops so that you can stay in touch with them.

You can also take this public speaking option in another direction. You can contact your Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, HR associations, etc. to see if you could give a short talk on the benefits of using gift baskets to improve customer / employee relations.

Reply:I would get together a brochure of some sort with pics of baskets you put together for different occasions and pricing. Target area flower shops, shops in Cherry Creek and Wash Park area- focus on women, possibly advertise on craigslist. I would skip newspapers unless you have the cash on hand. Ads are pretty expensive and are hit or miss. Send out a media alert to newspapers and maybe have an "open house" where people can buy pre-made baskets for a certain amount of time and offer some sort of coupon for returning customers.
If you haven't already, get together an LLC (go to your local post office and ask them about this), logo and your own stationary and business card set. If you are interested, I will trade you my graphic design services for gift baskets and offer other marketing experience/tips to you. I am a graphic designer and marketing specialist by trade and really enjoy projects like this. Feel free to email and we can talk more. :) Hope this has been helpful!
Reply:Try marketing them to flower shops and gift shops directly as a wholesale supplier. and when you have lots of business send me one. ;-)
