I'm tired of spending $100's of dollars on Christmas. This year I'm not really prepared to do as I usually do (spend WAY too much!). I know there are creative ways to make great gifts. I'm planning on making handmade fleece scarves, and some edibles, does anyone else have any ideas? I thought about gift baskets, but I'm at a loss as to what to put in them. Any ideas?

I always love to get my present from my friend Gary, because it's always a hand-picked mix CD he's made for me. I've amassed a nice collection of music I wouldn't otherwise have.
Reply:what i did for my little gifts was buy a bunch of tea (i actually went to the asian food store because they have a big variety and the tea is relatively cheap) and got everyone a cute tea mug, then stuffed about ten tea bags in the mug and wrapped it all up with tissue paper. it came out pretty cute. if your family doesn't like tea, im sure coffee works well too.

Reply:If you are crafty you can go to a craft store and make ornaments for the tree and other decorative items to put in the basket. People are really into scrapbooking so you could get a basket and put all the items in to get them going. We have friends who just got married so I go them a tote bag for keeping scrapbook items in, then filled it with a blank book, scissors, stickers, tape, glue, stamps, etc.
For a sports fan you could get a big popcorn bowl and fill it with sports magazines, and popcorn for watching the game, and other snacks. Check out the website links below for more ideas for inexpensive gifts this holiday season, most of which would go great in a gift basket....take a look!

(This is NOT spam. I am simply giving MY BEST ANSWER TO THE QUESTION asked.)
Reply:Don't forget to put in a Mom's gift baskets, a Gift Card to get her hair done at her favorite salon.
In womens baskets buy also hand@ body lotion. Bath beads @ bubble bath.
Reply:I've given this answer to many people and they seem to like it. What ever that person likes just make them a basket. It can be anything. Just think about the small and simple things that your family and friends always use or things that they always enjoy having. I'll give you and example I have a friend that loves coffee, so I made her a basket with two coffee mugs (I paid $2.00 for both of them) and different kinds of coffee and many flavors of creamer she adored it and I put some small sweet cookies in there. You do anything with a basket. Hope this helps good luck and Merry Christmas.
Reply:car wash, baby sit, grocery shop, pet walk, window wash, ironing, ebay described, programming of tv remote
I'll take the fleece scarf by the way.
Reply:It really all depends on who you are buying for. Figure out what things the people are interested in and you can buy some inexpensive things to put in the baskets. Then get somthing like candy to fill them up with.
