Reply:well you could do a couple packets of chips with a couple of drinks of any sort and couple of tins of fruit or pasta.
Reply:pasta basket - dried pasta in different shapes/flavors, a jar of sauce, herbs and spices, cheese if you can refrigerate it, cute hot pads with an italian theme...

ice cream sundae fixins basket - hot fudge, caramel sauce, maraschino cherries, different kinds of nuts, sprinkles, and put a note that says "just add ice cream"

breakfast basket - pancake mix, maple syrup, jams and jellies, fancy bread

teatime basket - different teas, scone mix, clotted cream, jam
Reply:You could do a movie night basket - Put in a homemade hot chocolate mix in mugs, a jar that you have put everything but the wet ingredients in and a DVD. You could actually burn the DVD's from one you already have. Make sure you also send directions on how to make them.

You could also do a pasta basket. Make a big pot of home made pasta sauce, maybe a few different types and can them. Put in the correct type of pasta, a small type piece of parm cheese.

A fiesta basket - Limes, a small bottle of tequila, tortilla chips, and some homemade salsa. Two margarita glasses. Also include the directions on how to make the perfect margarita.
Reply:what kind of theme do you wnat? you could get all foods that are the same color

one thing i did a copuple years ago was make a "bouquet" of candy

it turned out really neat and they sell them at the store for like 25 dollars and there is only like 3 dollars worth of candy in them here is what i did:-

get a "flower pot" or sumthing simmilar

some floral foam - the kind you put fake flowers in it is green or you can use a bunch of small candies like m%26amp;ms

get some sticks- i used lollipop making sticks ( they have them at walmart in the craft section for like a dollar) or use popsicle stick type craft sticks

a variety of small wrapped candy - like the fun size candy bars

optional- use some fake flower leaves for leaves if youd like

now- tape the backside of the candies to the sticks and if you want to use the leaves you can glue them with a hot glue gun, wrap them with floral wire or you could mayeb tape them

put the foam or bunch of m%26amp;ms int he bottom of the pot and stick the "candy flowers" through out the pot

you can get most of the supplies at walmart or even a dollar store and for the pot you could use a mug or something also and do a smaller bouquet of candy

yoif you get the supplies at walmart and the dollar store you can make a couple of them for about 10 dollars total and it is such a unique idea!

other ideas:

getting a baking pan and putting items in it with a recipe to make the recipe- liek cookies or cake etc...

put together a basket of things you will commonly use togehter like crackers and cheese, pb,jelly and a bread mix

could get a pitcher (can usually buy big plastic ones at dollar stores) and put a small bag of sugar and like 5 diff kinds of koolaide in it with a brightly colored big spoon to stir with

for my mom last year- i bought a laundry basket and gathered items she could have because she recently found out she was diabetic but was so overwhelmed with walking around the store readign labels to see if it was foods she could have.. so isince i like to shop.. i did just that.. everytime i went to the store for groceries id pick up a few things for the basket... and i filled it will all sorts of diabetic friendly things like snacks especially.. she loved it and it helped to give her ideas of what she could look for without hunting all over the store
