Gift Basket for New Mom?

I'm going to my friend's baby shower (for her 2nd child) soon and need ideas on what to get for her. Since she already has all the essentials and everything set up, I thought it might be nice to make a gift basket of things a new mom would like- rather than getting more baby things. Does this sound like a good idea, and if so- what sort of things should I include in it?

i think that is a great thing for you to get her, i would do lotion, some new slippers maybe, some nice body wash, body spray, maybe some new jammies, other wise you could always get her a gift card to different places to eat maybe they can order in a couple of meals so she doesn't have to cook because with two kids it gets even crazier.
Reply:I went to a baby shower recently and instead of giving the usual onsie or blanket, I made a practical giftbasket. I took a cute laundry basket and put in baby lotion, shampoo, a cute baby towel, and one of those rubber duckies that tell you the temperature of the bath water. I also put in a new diaper bag with diapers, wipes, and formula. You can never have too many of those. I wrapped it all up in cute plastic with ribbon and she loved it.
Reply:I think it sounds like a great idea. If she plans on breastfeeding, maybe get her some nursing tops (good for her %26amp; the baby). My mom always got me a gift card for a manicure %26amp; pedicure. You could get her a massage.
Reply:That is a great idea. Things to pamper herself. Lotions, bath candles, a spa gift certificate for a facial and you can offer to babysit for her while she goes...

Fill the basket with stuff she needs after she gives birth.

Shower stuff just for her, good pads not the nasty hospital ones, Breast pads she will need those.

think of her and not the baby coming. Even a gift certificate to restaurant she can order out one night instead of cooking for the family. Make it easy for her.
Reply:I would love a friend like you who would make me a gift basket for second child! Usually we only focus on first baby. Magazines she enjoys or a book she would enjoy. Some lotions or bath things, chocolate{of course!}, coupons at her favorite restaurant. Any of thes things would be wonderful for a second Mommy!!
