My daughter's little brother fell ill two weeks ago and has been hospitalized since....She is goin to see him tommorrow, does anyone have any ideas on what I can add to make a gift thingy up for him , from MY children??
I was thinking of adding things like juices.cookies, cakes, chips and candy along with coloring books, he really has to be pretty bored there...and has at least 3 weeks left to go!!!
I am looking for some ideas for making a little bouquet/gift basket together for a 5 yr old boy, any sugg??
tablet, funpads, coloring books, crayons, colored pencils, small cars, playdoh, legos set, easy to read books, big piece puzzle, stuffed animals
Good luck and tell him we all wish him a speedy recovery.
Reply:Put everything you said in the back of one of those big plastic dump trucks. That way he will get all the presents in the back as well as the truck.
Reply:When my nephew was in the hospital we made him a little gift bag like that. We put a toy doctor kit in it. He loved pretending to listen to the doctors heartbeat and giving him a pretend shot. We also included some Ninja Turtle figures, and some Silly Putty. Hope he gets better soon.
Reply:Hi! I love the dollar store...if you have one near you where everything is a buck you could look for cute kid buckets to use as the basket, coloring books, stickers, little games he can play, and many times they even have name brand toys there (so no one knows you got it at the dollar store if you don't want them to!)...don't forget to check with the hostpital and make sure he can have treats if you're planning on bringing them! Oh - and lots of times our Dollar Tree has those Kool-Aid sqeezie things...my daughter loves 'em! :)
Have fun shopping, and hope he's better soon! :)
Reply:He may be on a restricted diet so check this out before you add food items. Little packs of goldfish crackers, mini cookies, fruit roll-ups, and lolly pops won't be as messy or melt like chocolate does. For toys, besides a coloring book and crayons, add a children's magazine that has lots of activities like Highlights for Children a few Hotwheels or Matchbox cars, a Slinky, a can of Silly String ( Messy but easy to clean up and will be fun if confined to bed ) some Playdough, a harmonica, a storybook and a cuddly stuffed animal to cling to when he's feeling lonely.
Reply:Add some small toys (cars, dinosaurs, balls, etc) that he can play with in the bed. Or what about simple electronic hand-held games like Merlin or others that you can usually pick up fairly cheap at WalMart or Target:

What a nice thought you had! Hope he gets well soon!
