I would like to make a gift basket for a diabetic...any healthy suggestions?

Michael G- how can you be so insensitive- obvious you are not diabetic or have someone that you love that is. What if someone just read this and they are having a difficult time with their blood sugar levels- have a heart please!!

A great gift idea- is fresh fruit- especially apples and strawberries- and nuts. My husband does well on cashews and peanuts.

I would like to make a gift basket for a diabetic...any healthy suggestions?
Well, My Dad IS a Diabetic, I sent Him A gift Box One year Filled with all Kinds Of Stuff, Like Fruit Nuts and they have Diabetic Candies, They also Make Jellies and Stuff For the diabetics too, That was Dads favorite the Jellies. You Can Pick Most Of this stuff up at your local Grocery store.
Reply:Nuts, trail mix w/out the candies in it--custom make it if you need to, a bit of dried fruit, sardines, crackers, salsas or hot sauces if the person likes these, mustard, teas and coffee, sugar free chocolates, some fresh fruit and cheese, hummous, baba ghanouj, dried bean/grain mixes for soups, a bottle of red wine, that kind of thing.

What a nice idea you have here. I also think personal care basket are a really nice idea, maybe w/ a foot roller, a pumice stone, some really nice lotion and soap and a pedicure kit. Essential Organics makes a great lotion for feet w/ peppermint in it (and eucalyptus in it, too, I think). Colloidal oatmeal lotions are nice for diabetics, too, b/c they're highly moisturizing.
Reply:pecan pie

5lbs of powdered sugar

marshmallows

zagnuts

energy drinks

ampheta....oops. wait.

i'm in the wrong question.

sorry.
Reply:food wise, fresh fruit if you want gift items not food then lotions or foot care items are great
Reply:Bandages for the sores that don't heal, a seeing eye dog for when they go blind, sympathy cards for the family when they drop dead.
