What do you wish you had known before starting your own business?

I am planning to start a new business next year and would appreciate any help or suggestions. It will be for gift baskets and depending on how much funding I can create - I want to do it as a "catalog" type business.

What do you wish you had known before starting your own business?
1. Business Plan

2. Business Strategy

3. Team Member Reward %26amp; Recognition Program

4. Business Financing
Reply:Hire a day laborer....they work so much harder than legal citizens, and u dont have to pay them minimum wage. Oppss...there goes my secret
Reply:You never trust no-one! There is no sentiment in business and if people can take advantage of you they will. Any person trying to 'advertise' trust or some religious bull in business is going to be one of the biggest sharks around!

Check your back, follow up on what whoever tells you and take care of your investment.
Reply:Business plans are important. A lot of people write them, but they never follow them after a few months. Its very important to set goals and stick to them.

The most important thing is never stop advertising. People stop advertising when they are incredibly busy, but thats when you should be advertising the most to keep the business and cash flow coming.
