Gift idea help for a great doctor?

i cant stress enough how fantastic the doctor that delivered the baby is, the delivery could have gone really really bad because of how big she was and how small i am, even the forceps he used were outrageously risky bt he did everything perfectly. the man is awesome. so I want to like make him a gift basket or leave something for him at his office but i cant think of what. something personal but not too personal. cookies? wine? i dunno. any suggestions?

Gift idea help for a great doctor?
Its really nice you want to recognize the expertise and professionalism that your doctor showed while he delivered your baby, but its their job. Having said that, I would suggest to make a donation to your favorite charity or the hospital where you gave birth in honor of the doctor who delivered your baby. S/he will receive a letter stating that a donation in their name was given by you to their organization in thanks. Giving a personal gift could be a treading on boundary issues and that could make things a bit sticky. Who could argue with the generosity of a donation to charity in the name of the doctor?

Congrats on the birth of your healthy baby!

(((hugs)))
Reply:the doctors I know love wine and also love to read. a gift certificate to a wine store so he can pick it out and a barnes noble gift certificate along with a nice letter from you and your family along with a family picture including the new baby...congratulations!!!!!! or you could name the baby after him, make him an honorary godfather
Reply:A nice framed, engraved (Thank you Dr.-- from [daughter's name] and date of birth) picture of your baby might be nice. A gift basket is always cool, you could do fruit, home baked cookies, muffins, dessert breads, whatever.

I would stay away from wine because not everyone drinks and you never know if someone is a recovering alcoholic or religiously opposed to drinking or something.
Reply:Nice handmade portraits or paintings made from photos are always a good gift idea. You can find more such ideas at http://www.paintyourlife.com

They make all types of personalized and unique portraits on oil, pencil, charcoal or on canvas.

This company also has a studio for oil paintings reproductions. In case you are looking for an affordable gift urgently, you can take a look at their 'stock on sale'. Visit http://www.oil-paintings-reproductions.c...
Reply:Doctors are doctors for a reason... It is obvious he knew what he was doing. Write him a letter by hand, thanking him for a great delivery, and send along a picture of yourself and the baby. He will really appreciate it much more than anything else (cookies are consumable and easily forgotten, flowers will die, etc.)
Reply:A gift certificate to a coffee shop such as Starbucks would be appropriate. Usually a gift certificate anywhere in town is great. You can throw in an "It's a Girl" cigar for fun!!
Reply:Write a thank you letter and cookies would be nice and deffinatly a pic of you and the baby
Reply:a thank u card with is all that is necessary. best of luck
Reply:How about a 2 lb. box of See's candy and a thoughtful card, with a handwritten note from you describing how grateful you are for his assistance with the birth. You could also include a nice picture of you and your daughter. I know that most of the nurses I used to work with really appreciated when the parents remembered to write a thank you and send in a box of chocolate or a fruit basket as a gift. It will definitely convey a graciousness that will be much appreciated and will make him feel good when he reads the card!
Reply:Ask if your doctor plays golf. If he/she does, you should give him golf gifts! It would give your doctor a good reason to take a few days off from all the stresses of his/her job. It's not expensive at all too! Check here for more ideas: http://www.executivegiftshoppe.com/golfg...
Reply:Just pay him on time and say thankyou with a card.
Reply:I think you should make a gift basket of things for him to relax over a long day at work. If he likes to read maybe a couple of books, some of his favorite comfort foods, things like that. He must be tired after a long day at work.( also a great thank you card!)
