I have an elderly uncle who is diabetic and lives several states away. I usually send him something from Hickory Farms but I was thinking of doing something different this year. Does anyone have any ideas for a gift for him? I don't know any of his likes or dislikes, except that he does a lot of work with veterans organizations such as AMVETS. He is going blind, doesn't work any more and has diabetes. Should I stick with a Hickory Farms gift basket or do you have a better suggestion?

If thats what he really likes, I think you should stick with it because if he doesn't get it this year, he might miss it.
Reply:he probably looks forward to ur basket. old people get set in their ways and are comfortable with routine. you could send him something in addition to the basket like a war poster or a pin up girl poster

Reply:make a family photo album not to rub it in his face that he's going blind i just woul dthink he would like to see everyone be 4 he fully goes. and pics of him when he was youonger or a something that shows him how much u love him and how happy u r he's still there

Reply:If you had an old picture of both of you together that would be very nice, along with the basket!! I dont think you should do away with the basket but, maybe add to it!!
