What's a good Christmas gift to a whole family?

I'm thinking of a basket type of gift. I thought of a "movie" themed gift (ie: Large blanket, gift card to blockbuster, some movie snacks and popcorn). What are some other themes that I could make a basket gift out of? This would be for a slightly younger couple (mid to late 20's and a baby).

What's a good Christmas gift to a whole family?
make a compilation of all of your favorite Christmas songs, that is what I do every year for my friends, family, and co-workers. they love it, some disregard it but most are anxious every year to get my latest CD compilation of Christmas tunes. I have been doing it the last four years and am not about to stop now!
Reply:Sausage and booties.
Reply:Settlers of Catan
Reply:A food hamper, perhaps with some picnic accessories.

A massage kit with oils, maybe bubble bath, towels, candles.
Reply:you can check out our website, we have awesome gifts that would go for the whole family. www.mythrow.com
Reply:OK,,,, www.beverlykruse.com she also makes childrens jewelry.
Reply:The movie themed basket is a wonderful idea with a certificate that you will babysit for the baby the night they go out to the theater. Then the popcorn ,wine, etc they can enjoy at home for a home movie night. Include a little rattle or teething toy for baby--parents love it most when their babies get gifts!! Thanks.
Reply:How about a lullaby CD for baby, then once baby is asleep, they could use gift certificates to order in pizza and snuggle under the blanket to watch the movie. Maybe you could add a candle for ambiance.
Reply:maybe a giant fruit basket...a gift card would be nice too... good luck :)
Reply:How about some family games they could play together? There are plenty of games suitable for a toddler and their parents. A food basket is also a good idea. Many people with young children don't spend money on good food. Instead they buy the cheap stuff and don't really enjoy it at all.
Reply:Your suggestion sounds really good. Go with it.

Another might be tickets to the theatre (movie or stage),

a coupon for you to babysit for them free the night they

go, a pass for the limo to take them and return them

and if that's not enough,...gift certificates for a restaurant.

How's that?
Reply:A basket of goodies sounds great.
Reply:A nice dinner out for mom and dad while maybe free babysitting from you.
Reply:I would say it`s a nice gift when the whole family is together on Christmas.
Reply:A ice cream party basket.

Get everything but the ice cream. Get really cool ice cream bowls at your local dollar store and build around it.
Reply:Hohoho :)

*music/food themes (wine, chocolates, cookies)

Here is a blog post for 'how to decorate a gift basket'

Reply:Get them an encyclopedia and then turn to the heading "Christmas", and read to them where it says that Christmas is a pagan holiday that the early Christians knew nothing of.
Reply:a basket of pictures of recent memories to remind the family of past fun times.
Reply:Well, the baby's a little young right now, but in a couple of years, how about a "crafts basket" for the family? (Put in some nice colored pencils and a couple of coloring books for the adults---Dover makes wonderful ones, from butterflies to N American birds to historical....)

A couple of games/toys, covering different ages (for slightly older, or get baby a simple neat toy? (Candy Land game, Old Maid, cool crib toy----and cards, a combination game set (chess/checker/backgammon,etc.) for adults, maybe a classic board game.)

A basket of foodstuffs----some sort of gourmet goodie---is always nice.
Reply:Do the basket with: dinner gift certificates, wine glasses a bottle of wine, a few candles and a free night of babysitting. This can give them a night out and maybe you could babysit for them.I am sure they don't get any time together and this would be a nice romantic treat.
Reply:Foods of the month gifts are always well received. You could do fruit of the month, dessert of the month, breakfast of the month or dinner of the month. I have seen many catalogs that offer these gifts that keep on giving.
Reply:TO BRING THE FAMILY TOGETHER
Reply:How about the Christmas story gift basket? You could add some ornaments with the Nativity theme.

For Joseph- a carpenter, a knife or a gift made of wood.

For Mary- body oils, lotions etc. smell goods representing the gifts from the wise men....Frankincense and Myrrh. Oh yeah and the GOLD!

For Jesus-a gold ring or for a baby girl a bracelet. Baby oils or lotions.

Just a thought!
Reply:I was planning on doing lots of baskets for Christmas this year. Some of my ideas are baked goods, cookie in a jar recipes, soup in a jar recipes (several in each basket), for women - homemade bath salts and "fizzy bomb" salts, for men - homemade beef jerky and beer bread mix. Also maybe something themed around "family's first Christmas" if this is the first Christmas they've had the baby. I like the movie theme too, I may use that for my husband's aunt/family, but it's probably better suited either as a gift just to the couple or for someone with kids old enough to enjoy movies.
Reply:A game night basket is fun. You could do a poker bucket. Get a big silver bucket, poker chips, a couple decks of cards, dice, drink coasters, ashtray (if they smoke). Poker is really the "in" thing! The silver bucket turns into an ice bucket.
