Good or bad Anniversary gift?

It's our 2nd year anniversary and we are still going strong! The first year we were together I go my partner a ring along with some other stuff. This year I don't know if I want to get jewlery again. I made a gift basket, got some stuff pet supplies (loves animals), but for the main gift I don't know what to do. My partner works a job they love but makes very little. I wanted to help out by giving a 250 check to start an IRA (Individual Retirement Account, for those who don't know). They could contribute to it monthly and it would obviously grow and grow. I know love isn't about money, so don't answer me back with all that love stuff, this would seriously help my partner out in the long run and I would like to know if you think it's a good anniversay gift? I mentioned I wanted to do it before and they didn't seem to decline. This is a gift not a charity, lol.

Good or bad Anniversary gift?
I think its a great gift, It is thoughtful and useful, and most of all, it came from you.
Reply:its nice enough
Reply:I am happily married for 3 years and I think that would be a great gift. Just when she opens it explain to her why you thought this would be a great gift. Tell he it is the gift that will help her out in the future. I think you will be fine.
Reply:I think that's a really awesome idea, go for it.
Reply:It's a great idea for a gift! =D
Reply:Well I tend to be a little more financially centered than some, so I don't see any problem with this gift. In fact, and IRA is designed as a retirement savings, so it almost seems like you're making a commitment to grow old with her. That's sweet.
Reply:I gave IRA'S to my son's for gifts.
Reply:I thought 2nd Anniversary gifts were supposed to be made out of Callico?

Not only is it a great idea but it can be repeated year on year and it has a forward looking sense about it "growing old together towards our retirement..."

Congratulations!
