Christmas GIft Basket Ideas!?

I have so many gifts to buy...I need ideas for gift baskets. For grandparents, brothers, sister, and friends. Please help. Not too expensive!!

Christmas GIft Basket Ideas!?
Here are some good ones http://www.flowersbloom.com/Default.asp?...
Reply:Some popcorn and boxed candy, and a gift card for Blockbuster movies.

Some blank CDs and a Walmart gift card to download music.

A fruit basket that you put together from the grocery.

A basket of snacks, the little packages of cookies, pretzels, nuts, potato chips, popcorn, even a bottle of favorite soda.
Reply:Grandparents--a slip of paper offering to do some chores for them that they have a hard time doing...gardening, cleaning windows, or something I'm sure you must know

Brother--slip of paper offering to wash his car and wax it with some car wax and car care accessories

Sister--her special fragrance in soap and cream with a fresh bath puff and some powder

Parents--slip of paper offering to do chores, do all the floors one weekend or clean all the windows, or something they don't have time to do.. or offer to cook a special Sunday dinner for all of them......
Reply:gift baskets are a cool idea but i think it's cooler to put things in an LLBean tote bag (they come in all sizes, colors, etc) rather than an actual basket . . . then it's part of the gift itself . . . if you use the bags, then what inside doesn't have to be as spectacular as if you just used a cheapo basket or something. you could put in baked goods, a bottle of wine and other treats or something like a big canister of popcorn and a couple of dvds or a pair of wool socks, a fleece throw and a candle. good luck!
Reply:GIFT CARDS! PICTURES WITH THE PERSON IN A NICE FRAME WITH A TEDDY BEAR TIED UP TO IT!

Have a nice x mas!

What can i put in a gift basket for my sons kindergarten teacher,i don't know what she likes?

none teaching things, all i know about her is shes 56!!!please only serious answers,if your gonna be sarcastic dont respond

What can i put in a gift basket for my sons kindergarten teacher,i don't know what she likes?
You sound like a very thoughtful person to want to do that for your son's kindergarten teacher and I know they get way to much stuff like mugs with "Best Teacher" on it. Make up a basket of edibles, such as herb teas, homemade cookies tied up in cellophane and a bow, some extra special jam, oh I know you will come up with a great basket! Good for you!
Reply:OK i don't know if you have this store up there but the one thing all the women like up here, LUSH. it's uni-sex bath ans shower store. they have only hand made and natural products perfect for the no idea gift.
Reply:chocolate is always good. it's a lot easier to get a lot of small things than little things. buy (or grow) some pretty flowers, a small stuffed animal (she can put it in the classroom) a thank you note, maybe some cookies, these are all things that most people would like. I think she'd appreciate it if you get your son to draw a picture or if he can, write a short note to her. this will be more meaningful of a memory than most things that can be given.
Reply:most teachers like candles, word books, gift cards, watch, calculator, tote bag, small desk fan
Reply:My mother is a teacher. There is just so much bath and body stuff, just so many mugs, and just so many trinkets that say "best teacher" any person can have. At 56, your child's teacher probably has plenty of all of this.

What she would REALLY appreciate is a gift card. . . and why waste your hard-earned money buying something you're not sure she'll like? My mother appreciates every gift she receives, but she really LIKES getting gift cards. A few days after school is out, she heads to the mall and relaxes from the stressful year by spending some serious gift card dough. Target is great because it offers variety; Mall and Visa gift cards can be used almost anywhere.

Most importantly, a gift card saves you the stress of having to put together a complicated gift basket!
Reply:You could do a coffee or tea basket with a mug and a variety of teas or coffees and something sweet like biscotti or something similar. Thats a very nice thing for you to do.
Reply:As a Kindergarten teacher, I'd be thrilled with things like: gift cards, a calendar/planner, lotions/ spa related items. Teaching Kindergarten is a stressfull job, so relaxation gift ideas are the best!
Reply:Bath products are nice. Fancy soap and shower gel, a pretty hand towel and a mesh scrubbler would be appreciated by anyone. Another idea: A lb. of coffee and 2 mugs.
Reply:My kids get their teachers a gift card to a local bookstore...they can then choose what they want themselves.
Reply:gift cards, flowers, CD's if you know that she likes music, maybe a gift pass to the movie theater for the summer.
Reply:A book or (books), Chicken Soup for the teacher's soul.

Maybe a plaque, showing your appreciation with your child name on it as the giver.

A card, you can purchase with your child's picture inside.

A plant.
Reply:a candle, candy or chocolate, gourmet mixes , like hot chocolate mix, hummus mix, salad dressing, tea or flavoured coffee ; Nice note pad, and pen, crossword puzzle book or horoscope book?, a magazine, funky pasta, a lapel pin, movie passes, gourmet popcorn, flowers or a potted plant, something the child can make - a card or drawing. a picture frame for a class picture, cookies (homemade?) or a cookie mix, a nice trinket box.
Reply:Target/WalMart gift card! you can find nearly anything in those places!!!! oh and everyone loves chocolate and starbucks!!
Reply:Get like flowers for her to garden and some teaching stuff like chalk dry eraseboard maker and stuff.
Reply:gift cards

a card

candy

soap

cookies
Reply:I made a fruit basket for my daughter's teachers last year. I bought a bunch of fun stuff like those tiny bananas and stuff like that.
Reply:candles or boxs of candy
Reply:You could make her a gift basket with items she could use in her classroom. I know in my kid's classes, there are a lot of things that they ask the parents to contribute. Kleenex, colored pencils, etc.
Reply:a visa gift card will do the trick because she can us it any where
Reply:fruits
Reply:Well this could be considered a 'teaching' thing but, bright colored post it note pads, pens, pencils, wallet sized framed photo of your child, a travel packet or two of tissues/moist wipes.
Reply:Something that smells good from Bath and Body Works.
Reply:It depends on what kind of feeling you want to have with the gift basket...

For humorous, try:

Excedrin

Apple

Lottery ticket

pretend bottle of Valium

etc...

For pampering try:

candles

tea

facial/ manicure/ pedicure gift certificate

coffee/coffee mug

For motivation try:

Motivational calendar

soothing music CD

Inspiration posters

For gratitude try:

"best teacher" plaque

apple

'World's Greatest Teacher' pin/ t-shirt/ hat, etc

Have fun! I'm sure she'll love it no matter what!
Reply:a coffee mug, tea, a gift card, and something made by your child, a pencil holder, or craft of some sort...

fruits, nuts, and cheeses...

good luck!!
Reply:i agree no "teacher" items or desk accessories. if you do chocolates or candies make sure she isn't diabetic. soaps and stuff from bath and body works are great but there is a risk of an allergy, and she wouldn't use it anyway.

book store gift certificates

i agree with the visa gift card

gift certificate to a nice restaurant (if shes married make sure its enough for both of them)

a nice picture of the class in a frame

hope this helps
Reply:bath stuff-always welcome-get some nice foam bath-soap, talc- bath oil,-even shampoo-conditioner- something nice smelling always goes down well.

Is The Gift Basket Industry A Good One?

My daughter and her boy friend have begun a "Gift Basket Company".......How many of you would Order from a "Gift Basket Company? Or would you go to the store and shop there instead....For those of you wondering you can see their site at http://www.blackriverbaskets.com Please, be honest and let me know if you think it looks like it could succeed...Thanks...

Is The Gift Basket Industry A Good One?
It looks good! Go with that! If it brings in more money for you than just a regular "job," then ride it until the wheels fall off! Tell your daughter and her boyfriend Nate said "Good luck!"

P.S. The key to this is you have to offer the product at a price that the other stores and malls won't offer. You want to make some $, but at the same time turn a profit. Keep this in mind.

Gift Basket (extra income or silly idea)?????

I enjoy making gift baskets and I was considering making flyers and posting them throughout chicago (where I live). I would like to have a couple premade for holidays. But I mostly would like to make them at the customers request with thier opinions on how they would like it. Do you think it would work as something extra to do?

It seems that the gift basket business has seen it's day come and go. Not to discourage you, I will give you a few websites where you may make a more informed objective decision.

Be aware that certain countries have such a low cost of materials and labor, that it makes it difficult to be competitive.

Good Luck to you!!!!!

Reply:I think it sounds like a really neat idea myself. I also thought that making romantic picnic basket lunch packages would be neat too. I think it could really go places. Hey, when you make it big; I want first dibs on a franchise here in western Michigan ok?
Reply:It can be a good thing but you have to be careful!

If they look nice, you can get a peddler's license, they are a good value, they have a contact number for more orders/compaints/returns, you can get a small business shots/hair salons to sell them on consignement, etc.

I wouldn't make too many. I would make a few, take some pictures and list whats included. Then ask around for some opinions on price, quality, suggestions
Reply:Yes, that would be nice. I might order baskets from you. Email me pics and prices...

I think it is a great idea. Actually me and my sister thought of doing something like this at one time. I think it would be a great business to have around the holidays and special occasions. GOOD LUCK!!
Reply:go for it. sounds like you have a passion for creating, you will never regret doing what you love to do. good luck!
Reply:Yes, this idea would work. One thing you must do is give people an idea as to what you can put in a gift basket. Also, I would pre-make some gift baskets, put their photographs and their prices on your fliers.

If you are talented, you can develope a very nice business.
Reply:I think it is an idea that may work. You may want to attend craft shows or holiday carnivals with samples and order forms. You may also consider getting a web page, or possibly even an e-store on ebay to sell your handiwork.

good Luck
Reply:It depends on what exactly is in the basket and who you're trying to market to. Some people get crazy over that stuff, then some don't. It's not a real novel idea, so it might not bring in a lot of extra cash.
Reply:yeah try it people always need help with stuff like that
Reply:Yes that's a great idea.My daughters sister-in-law makes big fruit baskets with other goodies at Christmas and sells them to big companies to give their employees. She does a booming buisness but she gets her produce wholesale. There is a place that makes cookie baskets and they do really well too.
Reply:i think it would be a great idea but alot of work such gift baskets you could try is ones for the bathroom, spa, movie night ones but if you do this - you must buy stuff in bulk good luck at this idea.
Reply:Absolutely! You might want to contact florists shops and liquor stores in your area and show them what you can do, as a "subcontractor" or independent. (Where I live that's the place to go)

Good Luck.

The website looks nice but the products are tacky looking.

I know that there is a market for this kind of gift basket. People like that. However personally I am not a gift basket giving or taking person unless it has items that can relate to me or the person Im giving it to. It looks like there are on to a good thing.

Put in a whisk, a spatula, a bread mix, a bread pan, cupcake wrappers, an apron, a minute timer, a bottle of olive oil...

Good luck!
Reply:How about a book of casserole recipes?

If not a book of recipes, you could include recipe cards with a couple of cards filled out with casserole recipes.

A trivet or cork mat set to sit the casserole on after it comes out of the oven.

Pot holders that match the casserole and trivet or cork pads.
Reply:Here's some ideas:

(1)casserole dish

Yoga gift basket ideas?

Im putting together a gift for my 19 year old best friend for Christmas. I decided to make it a yoga themed basket. Im gonna get a cute basket and decorate it and put a yoga mat, some yoga/pilates DVD in there, how to book, healthy snacks but I don’t know what else, maybe some candles. Any suggestions of things to put in there to fit the theme.

Thanks!!

Wow, that's a great idea! You are already including lots of things so I don't think you really need to add more but some other ideas are:

herbal teas

incense burner

nag champa incense

crystal or other stone she may like

om piece of jewelry

yoga strap or blocks

scrunchies to tie her hair up with

a gift card for local yoga classes

Gift Basket (extra income or silly idea)?????

I enjoy making gift baskets and I was considering making flyers and posting them throughout chicago (where I live). I would like to have a couple premade for holidays. But I mostly would like to make them at the customers request with thier opinions on how they would like it. Do you think it would work as something extra to do?

Gift Basket (extra income or silly idea)?????
For sure!! I am in the process of doing the same thing.

What kind of gift baskets? Do you get paid to buy the products in them? I do, it's a great way to add profits and have originality inside and out!

I think you are definitely on the right track, especially if you really like doing it! Have a couple pre-made and a custom price package, just an idea..... good luck to you
Reply:I suggest that rather than posting flyers throughout Chicago (which could feasibly be in violation of a city ordinance prohibiting such action -- speak with someone who can tell you whether or not it is a legal practice) that you design a flyer and a business card that have the same theme and circulate them to businesses where people usually enjoy giving gifts such as the real estate industry. Gifts are often given after 'closing' which is the final step in contract negotiations for the transfer of property from one person to another. Building a good relationship with companies is important. Customer satisfaction is crucial to a successful business of any type.

It may be necessary for you to obtain a business license to do business in Chicago. Also, remember to keep records of purchases used to build the 'baskets' as well as the receipts of payment received. It will be necessary for you to add a Schedule C to a standard Form 1040 Income Tax Form if it is a small business in which you are the sole proprietor (owner). More information may be gained from visiting the www.irs.gov website, as well as, the www.sba.org.

If you have any pre-designs for holidays such as 4th of July themed baskets or other holiday designs, it would be good to have a notebook with photographs in it to show to prospective clients.

Good luck with your small business venture...
Reply:You are Lucky that you know what you want to do and are talented in this. I, know I want to sell something but nothing makes me excited. So Lucky you, go for it.

ways to sell: Online (built a website), flea markets, home based sales, trade shows, eBay and most important for you: B2B- business to business, sell to local stores! - markets, grocery shops, gift shops. show them what you make and before each holiday like Christmas, mothers day, valentines day- Offer them your baskets to sell.

Good Luck!
Reply:Sure I do and thats a really great idea. People always love getting gift baskets.
Reply:It would be better if you could add your own unique twist in some way.
Reply:yes keep it up
Reply:Yes, Great Idea.
Reply:When doing specialty items such as this, I recommend you focus on a specific customer at first. New mother's, graduate's, even at home parties(like tupperware, avon, etc.)Most first businesses fail because they funnel out their business aspiration's, rather than focusing on their purpose.

Ideas for A Christmas Gift for Our Pool Service clients? Help?

Hello everyone

we own a pool service business in florida and are wanting ideas on what kind of gift to give our customers on christmas.. can anyone offer any ideas? the gift would have to be economical anyway thought about a gift basket or mug w/candy any ideas would be appreciated thanks so much and god bless.

Ideas for A Christmas Gift for Our Pool Service clients? Help?
A great original idea, would be for you guys to buy tea-light sized candles and plastic floaters, bundle them up in small baskets of 50 and give them to clients.

This way they can light up their pools with glowing candle light, which is a festive way to celebrate the holidays.
Reply:Go To Bath %26amp; Body Works And Get Them Lots Of Lotion
Reply:I recently heard of a company that sells "floating boulders". Essentially it is styrofoam covered with a synthetic stone coating. They really do float. And they really do look like real rocks. They have candle holders and drink holders among other options. Some were available for around $25 (I think), others more expensive. But they are very unique and will remind your clients of you everytime they look at them. Unfortunately I don't remember the web site, but googling floating boulders should get it for you. They were in Arizona I believe.
Reply:I worked for a pool company up in MN for about 9 years and each year for almost all the holidays we would give our clients coupons that we printed off ourselves for certain percentage off chemicals or a service calls. You could make them for whatever you like.

This way you are still giving them something and they are coming it to buy also. You could print them to say whatever you would like them to say and still decorate them with candies, fruit, etc.

If your not sending them all out. You could place a tree up and decorate that and place the baskets or mugs underneath for them to take as they come into you store.

Good luck and whatever you pick they will appreciate very much.

ADDENDUM:

All I can suggest is to rent the movie and watch the credits!

I just searched TV Guide to see if it's coming on TV any time soon (doesn't look like it is), and it provided this list of "Performers":

My 2 year old nephew broke his tibia and fibula yesterday. Any ideas to put into a gift basket for him?

How about a teddy bear and an ace bandage, so he can wrap his bear's leg up like own and have some company? Other than that, anything he can do while being still... a new video, coloring books and crayons, puzzles with large easy pieces, a magna-doodle, stickers...

I hope the little guy heals quickly!!!

My 2 year old nephew broke his tibia and fibula yesterday. Any ideas to put into a gift basket for him?
Hi, how about personalized books? Kids love to hear their own name in the storyline. Go to this website http://www.tlc-expressions.com They have lots of titles like Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, Dinosaur Land, Sesame Street, Sports titles and so many more. Check it out - they're very reasonably priced, and make a wonderful, unique %26amp; special gift... It's something they can enjoy now and keep forever!! Good Luck!
Reply:A soft fuzzy animal, a couple of picture books and some puzzles suitable to his age. This way he can keep busy when he's feeling well and hug his animal when he's tired.
Reply:how about a leappad...i know they are for older kids but my oldest nephew got one when he was about 2 and used it very well.so you might want to invest in his learning and let him have fun with it at the same time
Reply:how about a dvd barney or elmo big hits, and little juice boxes, and some toddle treats like juice treats, fruit medley is a great flavor, best of luck to the little one, also purhaps a cd like dora or spongebob that way the little one can just listen
Reply:Awww...poor guy!!

crayons

washable markers

colored pencils

paper

coloring books

DVD

a few snacks

books

puzzles (age appropriate)
Reply:I would suggest some new videos. While I am not one to want to put my kid in front of the TV, there are also times (like this) when you just need an "in-house" baby-sitter or entertainer.

My son actually has a neat thing for in the car that might work in this case - it is called VideoNow Jr - and it's a little handheld TV that you can purchase preschool videos for. You can find it at Hasbro.com or maybe even on Ebay.

Good luck.
Reply:age appropriate lego kits (they have smaller kits to build specific things)

little snacks

picture books

books on tape/CD

tape recorder with a microphone for him to record himself on blank tapes

*play doh

*coloring books and crayons

(*assumes he won't still put them in his mouth)

hope these ideas help!
Reply:Ouch! He needs things he can play with without moving around. A doctor kit and a stuffed animal to practice on is a good idea. Fat crayons, paper and playdough would work. Kids that age love stickers. Don't spend money on expensive ones. Go to an office supply store and get different size sticky dots in many colors. They are cheap and he can use his imagination. If you want to splurge get him a kids CD player or cassette recorder and some Cd's or tapes. A couple of simple puzzles would be nice. If he's in a cast provide washable markers so he and his visitors can decorate it. Lego makes big versions appropriate for his age. If he can sit up a tray table would give him a place to do all this.
Reply:He's 2. He doesn't need a gift basket. Just do some fun silly toddler games with him.

Gift basket themes?

A few friends and I are hosting a baby shower for a a good friend. There are 70 people coming and we decided that prizes for the games would be themed gift baskets.

Here is what we have so far...

Car Wash

Steelers (we live in PGH)

gardening

games night

date night at home (movie rentals, popcorn, etc)

date night out (restaurant gift cards, movie theater cards, etc)

Any other ideas? These baskets will be for women of all different ages 18-75)

Gift basket themes?
What a fun idea!! How about a "treat yourself" gift basket - with bubble bath, lotion, nail polish, loofahs, etc. Have fun!
Reply:What a baby shower!!! Those are great gift basket ideas but still a lot of money for a game prize. Money that could go for the mommy to be and baby.

I would keep it simple. Small baskets with yummy goodies, or lotions.

Also you can think about having every one sign up to bring the new parents over a meal. Lunch and Dinner sign up. They just drop it off, no need to come in and chat. Fast easy meals that you can just pop in the over and then throw away the pan.

have fun
Reply:book lovers, spa basket, cooking basket, hope these help

Bridal shower gift basket ideas?

The theme is international honey moon. Where should the place I choose be and what be some good gift ideas that would go along with it? Lingerie should be included in it.

Bridal shower gift basket ideas?
Honeymoon is about romance and love. How about the following sexy items:

1. Japanese kimono style bathrobe and slippers - for a great spa time

2. American sexy Victoria Secrets lingerie - you will need to know the size!

3. Chinese cheongsam and large fan with boa - for Chinese fan dance

4. Korean ginseng tea - for strength and vitality for honeymoon or preserved Kim Chi (spicy cabbage) for hot hot romance.

5. French perfumes or cosmetics - Dior, YSL depends on the individual taste etc - for that sweet aroma/scent or wines - best to go with strawberries

6. Italian leather belts and ties - mmm to heat up the night!

7. Indian oil lamp - instead of oil change it and put scented candles like lavender (safer option)

8. Best of East Europe - relaxing classical music for a romantic night

9. Latin America music Cd's - famous for their hot Latin dance

10. Lastly, Arab dress at a little mystic and exotic mood to the honeymoon

Hope you can find all these items at costume shops, shopping malls, Chinatown, Walmart etc.

All the best!

Ideas for A Christmas Gift for Our Pool Service clients? Help?
A card with a gift certificate for 10% off their next purchase.

~
Reply:I like the suggestion for the 10% off their next purchase.

I work in a small bank branch (only 7 employees) and we actually have customers to bring us things during the holidays. Some of their ideas are: small boxes of candy, homemade cookies, cakes and breads, and calendars to hang in in our work stations.

Hope this helps!
Reply:A fun, pool-related gift that you can buy in bulk for less than $40 each, is a watertight holder for an iPod Shuffle:

It's not as much fun, but a useful and low-cost pool gift is the filter sock:

Dress up the packaging with a holiday theme.

PS -- Some people on your list may not celebrate Christmas. Everyone likes gifts, though. Good luck.

I need some ideas for a gift basket........?
We did a gift basket a couple of years ago for my husband's parents. It was a 'Coffee Theme'. We bought them some nice coffee cups and a half-dozen samples of gourmet coffees. We also added in some of those Piroette cookies.
Reply:for your husband you can get him so cologne and stuff like that

for your mother and father you can give them like bath stuff
Reply:You will have to order but they are fast

Best little cheap gift out there

i love these things and i guarantee they do not have them. If you can log in , you can order them they come right to your house.
Reply:1. Get some things for your husband(and you) to use in more private moments, that way you both benefit.

2. Get your parents things like travel items like gas cards, gift cards, coupon booklets, just things that can help them and get away after the holidays and relax. Holidays can be stressful.
Reply:Hershey's has some Christmas chocolate ideas, you can browse them at their website. My personal favorite is a personalized chocolate bar card (about $20 if I recall). That would just be really different, I think, to get.

Otherwise, do you have a Cost Plus World Market anywhere near you? That is, hands down, the best place to put together gift baskets. You can find a bunch of interesting international foods and candy. They also have some fairly inexpensive jewelry that comes from around the world, and home decoratives, containers, baskets, etc. It's a very fun place.
Reply:Candy! Buy some choclates why not?Flowers something nice with there name on it Stay budget!
Reply:For your husband

1. Cologne..Aftershave

2. Chocolates

3. Gas Cards

4. Gift Cards

For your mother and father

1. Chocolates

2. Personalized Stationary

3. Pictures of the family in frames

4. Gas Cards

5. Movie Tickets

6. Gift Card for a meal at their favorite restaurant

I made a stationary and bead gift basket for my sister. For my father-in-law I made a gift basket full of chocolates and cookies and little goodies that he likes.

Just get creative. Good luck and Happy Holidays!
Reply:Add a bottle of their favorite beverage (wine, beer, champagne, etc.) to each, little gourmet candies sprinkled about, a few slices or a half of a cake wrapped in pretty cellophane next to the beverage, little cheeses and some cracker packages, cans of tiny sausages. 2 candles with holders, 2 cloth napkins covering everything on top and a big bow.
Reply:bath %26amp; body (lotion, oil)

Reply:for you husband get some sexy and skimpy underwear and for your parents get them something that they have in common, like cheese and crackers, or if they like coffee but can't have caffine, find an assortment of decaf coffees and get them each a cute christmas mug.
Reply:What kinds of things is your husband into? My ex-husband was into fishing, so once for Christmas I got him a dozen new lures and some other fishing related stuff and made him a basket like that, and ties the whole thing up with a ribbon that had fish on it. For my dad, who is into John Deere tractors, me and my husband bought him 4 coffee cups with different designs, and 4 collectible J.D. tins and gave them to him. I think his whole gift was $20.00, and he's showed it to everybody.

Just go with what they like. You can't go wrong!!
Reply:Sexy masage oils, a small Kama Sutra Book, and adult toys for your husband,

Candy for your parents

DO NOT MIX THEM UP
Reply:I hope you're not being too cheap with your closet family. I mean, your husband? And--you don't know what to get for him? jesus, have you met the guy? do you share his bed? buy him new underwear, guys hate that. a gift basket of new underwear, different syles, brands, colors...and sizes, for when he gains/looses weight. He'll think you're his mother.

then, for your parents, get them a naughty game to play together. and the accessories they will need to go with it. lingere, banana, silk scarf, chocolate-all from the dollar store to. they will be so excited, though they might act shocked.

good luck.

i hate christmas.
Reply:If they like movies how about movie rental coupons and candy some pop don't forget the popcorn...

first you need a theme what do they like to do ... then go from there.....

the possibilities are endless

Gift basket ideas for someone in a nursing home?

A photo album or frame with pictures of yourself and your family.

A videotape recording of you and your family

Videos for them to watch (if they have a VCR)

CD of music you think they'll like (Make a mix of what you have or download from itunes.) Add a cheap CD player if they don't have one.

Little boxes of raisins or other soft, healthy food they can probably eat. (There are now dried blueberries, and other dried fruits that are really good. Just make sure they're soft and not too chewy.)

Large-print playing cards

Warm slipper socks with no-skid bottoms.

Fleece blanket

Reply:It really depends on what their health is like. Food is good if they don't have allergies and aren't on restricted diets. You might also do nice smelling lotions or soaps. You could give books or crosswords puzzles.

But really, the best gift that you can give someone in a nursing home is your time. They really don't have the need for things anymore, but they would really appreciate your company.

Aromatherapy candles and bath salts.

I sell bath and body products and often assemble in gifts arrangements. They may work for you as well. The company I associate with is called Country Bunny Bath and Body out of Nixa, MO.
Reply:Start marketing to your local corporate market. This would include Realtors, mortgage companies, insurance companies, etc. If you start thinking, there are hundreds of different areas that you could target. Once you get these folks ordering and coming into your store, you'll find that you'll sell more personal gift baskets as well.

Reply:Gift Baskets always go well with greeting cards and balloons. It also depends on your clientele.

If you have alot of businesses then you might want to consider just the staples, if you have a shop in a residential area, you might want a bigger variety.
Reply:You could let people bring in the items that they want in the gift basket and charge to "gift wrap" the item into a special gift basket. You could have colored sheared paper, glitter sprinkles. colored ribbon, balloons, as extras to include into the basket to make the basket more personal. You could then charge for the wrap, without having to purchase say like baby, or wedding shower items.
Reply:Start your own brand of products for your baskets... perhaps your own wine, smoked meats, candy, soaps, or crafts.
Reply:fill some baskets with silk flower arrangements...

take some mini wicker pieces and make mobiles and sell......

teach basket designing, crafts, crochet, knitting

offer make your own gifts baskets, have items to put in it... small perfumes, other items to put in it....gift cards, greeting cards........
Reply:Flowers with a link to Interflora might be useful in building up business.

I imgaine you have a line of cards in store, maybe you could supplement the gift range, for those who don't want a gift basket with things like photo frames, candles, skin care, keepsakes and trinkets and all the other sort of thing that people pick up as gifts.

Another option would be too have a range of fine wines on sale (although the licensing side of this may prove to be expensive).
Reply:Homemade produce, candy, cakes, bread, jams and marmalades, chutneys.

Go to craft markets and offer to sell things that they make for a commission.
Reply:Baskets, cellophane and bows in case someone wants to make their own basket. Candy bouquets would be nice too, especially if you make some masculine ones. You could also sell balloons and birthday cards (or any type of greeting cards).

I live in Alaska and the basket gift store here has boxes of chocolate that are nice. They even have boxes of chocolate cigars.
Reply:candles would go real good woman and some man love them
Reply:Candles

Trinkets

Reply:Try more gift ideas. Such as wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue paper, bows, ribbons, cards, balloons...you know?

You should also try to sell other types of gifts... like, maybe stuffed animals? for kids, or little figurines...

Try making ornaments, or cristmas stockings, too!

But, I think the best thing would to start a bakery-type-thing.

Make your own birthday cakes, or cookies n' stuff...

Also, try making candy!

Or a spinoff of gift baskets would be to make sets of little bags of candy and fun stuff for kids!-goodie bags.

I've noticed that A LOT of kids have Christmas or birthday parties at school, and they usually take goodie bags and (of course) cupcakes!

So, that would be the best thing to try! Kids LOVE those things, and it's always best, because working parents don't always have the time to make those things for their children to share, so try experimenting with those...?
Reply:Great question!

Have you thought about supplementing your income by approaching a larger market?

What gift ideas do you have for a family of four with little money for Christmas? We've had it rough.?

My husband was out of work for about 5 months and now has a job that only pays $8.00 and hour. We have gotten help with food and clothing and bills, but Christmas is coming up and we don't know how we are going to make gifts or buy gifts for our loved ones and our kids especially. I usually make gift baskets and even those aren't too cheap when you have little to no money coming in.

What gift ideas do you have for a family of four with little money for Christmas? We've had it rough.?
Have you looked into Thrift Shops? They can have some neat toys and some good as new.

Also you can make items for them or together. Use things in nature like leaves, pinecones, sticks etc. Books at your local library will give you plenty of ideas. Check one out.

You can go caroling, make cookies, get them involved in helping others like visit a nursing home or senior center. Another cool idea is to make a big Christmas Basket (decorated). As a gift to your kids let them pick a card out of the basket each week for two months (something like that). Put index cards in the basket (decorated with santa, reindeer, candy canes or ?) with an inscription or wish.

Examples:

I will take you to the Park for Two Hours

Bake cookies together, you choice of type

I will play football with you for an afternoon

I will take you fishing and teach you how (wow)

We will go on a 3 hour hike

We will go to a local animal park to see the animals

We will build sandcastles together at the beach

We will go to the local swimming pool to swim

You can find literally hundreds of things you can do that your kids will enjoy for low cost or no cost. They will LOVE this. Make it fun. Anytime a kid get to spend quality time with a parent they love it more than any toy. This really works, just please try it. But remember to follow through, dont ever not do what they pick. Maybe pick Sunday as they day of the week they pick the adventure.

Also you can see if the local newspaper will run an ad for you that your kids are not getting Christmas this year. They love humanitarian stories and may feature your family. You can also talk to churches (they have toys and food) or local non-profits like the Family Resource Centers, Boys and Girls Club or get your kids put on an Angel Tree ( people pull the names and buy them a gift, but make sure it is a resonable toy). Womens Centers may help also. Many churches and non-profits have parties for less fortunate kids, I know I used to buy 100 gifts each year and help throw the party. Help is out there start searching.

All kids deserve CHRISTMAS. Good Luck
Reply:Who says you have to give anything? As a stay at home mom, we budget to the last nickel on one income. We told our family and friends that we would not be able to buy anything for them and they were very supportive. If you really think about it, little gifts end up on the shelf anyway. It's nothing to be ashamed of, and I'm sure your family and friends would understand. If you have to give something, bake cookies and put them in a nice tin you can get from the dollar store.
Reply:sometimes you can find some good toys, clothes, etc at resale shops -- talk to some friends who maybe are discarding items, maybe you can get some things that way. Make up a coupon book where kids are offered things like - movie rental night (you can rent for free at libraries!) - a 'whatever you want' night (within reason where you cater to them ( make it a fun game type thing).... don't know what ages your talking, but maybe this at least gets your imagination going. Good luck and God bless
Reply:First of all home made gifts are the best and if you cant do that goto a dollar store they have TONS of things there. We were in you position not to long ago. Remember its not the present that is the big deal its the thought and i know that sounds stupid but its true. I once made my mother a book of poetry we didnt have any money to spend and she loved it. Or even baked goods like cookies are great too

Hickory Farms gift basket question? Does anyone know how the quality is and is it real cheese or processed?

Hickory Farms products are very good. The cheese can be either processed or "real" depending on the item chosen. Read the description of the items and you should be able to tell if it is a solid cheese such as Swiss or Cheddar or if it is a blend. Most processed cheeses are more like the Velveeta or common American yellow cheese.

An additional word on gift baskets. You might do better, if you are going to hand deliver the gift, by buying the ingredients and putting the gift together yourself.

Hickory Farms gift basket question? Does anyone know how the quality is and is it real cheese or processed?
Sounds like a great gift. I'd equate that to getting a snot filled fruitcake or a toe-jam omelette. Step up and get something semi-edible. That hickory farms junk is deeeee-sgusting
Reply:Most gift baskets use processed cheese.
Reply:Hickory Farms is known for their good quality. "Processed" is still real, but read over the descriptions on the web site... I'm sure it'll tell you.

Here's a site I've had some very good luck with. Don't be fooled by the name... there are MANY baskets that do not include wine. I've used this service and they are very good, and there's a good range of prices... not all out of site.

Reply:All good suggestions here, although I think Freedom means a MUSLIN bag. I would also include some lemon cookies, there are some good ones at the supermarket, or you can make lemon squares which are heavenly. You can buy a mix for those at the store also, or make from scratch, they're not too hard. Here's a recipe from cooks.com:

LEMON SQUARES

1 c. all purpose flour

1/2 c. softened butter

1/4 c. powdered sugar

2 tsp. grated lemon peel

1/2 tsp. baking powder

2 eggs

1 c. sugar

2 tbsp. lemon juice

1/4 tsp. salt

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix thoroughly flour, butter, and powdered sugar in a small bowl. Press evenly with hands in bottom and about 1/2 inch up sides of ungreased 8-inch square pan. If dough is sticky, flour fingers. Bake 20 minutes.

Beat remaining ingredients in a medium bowl on medium speed until light and fluffy. Pour over hot crust. Bake just until no indentation remains when touched lightly in center, about 25 minutes. Let stand until cool, then cut into squares and sprinkle with more powdered sugar.

How do i make a unique gift basket of fruit?

It's fun to do. Last Christmas I went to the dollar store and got a beautiful basket. Then I got a really nice napkin (doilie) to line it with. Put whatever fruit is in season. I added a small container of pretzels I had hand-decorated myself. Then I added a bottle of wine, a small container of fancy jelly and some artificial Christmas greens. It was beautiful.

How do i make a unique gift basket of fruit?
Get a huge watermelon, make 2 cuts from the top about 1 and a half inches apart and cut down to the middle and then out to the side so you left with half a watermelon with a 1 and a half inch wide handle, scoop out all the flesh, wash and dry then fill it with lovely fruits such as cape gooseberries, kiwi fruit, lychees, figs, baby clementines, fresh dates, black cherries and a few nuts.
Reply:It is all about creativity. Maybe you could get a fruit that is every color of the rainbow put them in order and have a matching basket or it could be based on something like soccer and you can add a small soccer nkick-nack have something like easter grass in there those are a couple of ideas.
Reply:It should custom made just for the recipient -- the right amount of his or her favorite fruit that won't be a burden ripening too fast. The container -- a basket, tray, platter, or small bucket should be attractive and hopefully have another purpose after the fruit is consumed. Select fruit of various sizes, textures, colors that fit the container and select some items that will ripen more slowly. Wrap it all up in cellophane and tie with a unique ribbon -- French wired or raffia or very cool shoe laces might do.

What is the proper "New neighbor" gift?

My ex husband converted to Islam while working in the Middle East, on a government contract, now there is always a white van in the street in front of my house.

Should I offer them coffee and donuts, or should I go over and ask them if I could borrow a cup of sugar? Or maybe a nice gift basket with some wine and cheese?

What is the proper "New neighbor" gift?
I would dig a big hole in your yard and carry a large wooden box and while looking around constantly bury it. Every once in a while in the middle of the night take a spotlight and make signals like towards a satellite. Then to really get to the watchful eyes in the van, turn your tv towards the outside window and keep putting adult movies.

On a serious note I worked in a company near a TSA office. Often times there would be TSA agents in the elevator which is completely mirrored inside. There was one figity guy I use to play with all the time. I would move my hand quickly to run through my hair and he would jump. One day I had my back to him the whole time but staring at him with the mirror. He would try not to notice me. I miss that guy, he was fun.
Reply:Full frontal is my opinion. Then convince one of your girlfriends to have nasty fake phone sex with you, and both scream "JIHAD" at the end.
Reply:I didn't think you would notice my van but, since you have, my partner and I love donuts (Bavarian cream filled) and he likes black coffee, but I prefer hot chocolate. Thanks bunches : - )

PS - Could I use your restroom? I've been out here all night and I really gotta go! I can't hold it until shift change!
Reply:Well, if this is some government agency watching over you, you can be nice and take some hot chocolate out for them on cold days, some lemonade on hot days and some baked goods for the holidays. Or -and I'm sure they'd appreciate this more than anything- just let them into your house so that they can poke around and take a good look while you make them some coffee.
Reply:I would recommend the same thing in this situation as I would in any new-neighbour situation. Bring them a pie, or some other consumable gift that comes on a plate or pan that must be returned.

In the case of new neighbours, it assures that you will see them again for another conversation once they're settled.

In this case, it puts the agents in the uncomfortable and treacherous legal ground of accepting gifts from their subject. (The more expensive, the better!)
Reply:beer.
Reply:If you appease them (lol see my previous answer) you will get 20 white vans. Take action now. Make it clear that YOU WILL NOT BE WATCHED and be prepared if necessary to blow the van up before you get blown up yourself.
Reply:hit on the husband!

lol

that was the first thing my new neighbour did!

and still doing it until now!
Reply:Jelly .
Reply:invite them over for a no kids pool party..Mmmmmm

I guess ...

maybe have every one come over for a cook out...

laugh and have fun..and make new friends..
Reply:A basket of Pork should do it.
Reply:hmm...well the appropriate gift for the New Feds in your neighborhood is the "quiet place Noise-Cancellation Headphones" from Sharper Image with the following features:

Anti-noise headphones feature advanced "quiet place?" noise-cancellation technology in combination with full-spectrum audio performance.

Enjoy a quiet haven or stereo sound from almost any portable audio device.

Headphones virtually eliminate the droning noise of planes, trains, buses and traffic.

Soft ear cups with memory foam cushioning provide ultra-comfortable extended wear.

Includes an airplane jack adapter for in-flight music or movies.

Now for real new neighbors, you give them a book you have compiled over the years of the best dry cleaners, best chinese takeout, best veterinary clinic, etc..
Reply:Better leave them alone. What a co incidence that he converts and he works on a government contract, it is probably Big Bro watching you. Like "always" there? Wake up and drink your coffee and forget about New neighbor gifts, Good luck. Be careful!
Reply:ask them to have a dinner with you at home then serve delicious foods (-:
Reply:If these new neighbors are from your ex-husband and believe in the same faith, bring what you like and take it to them topless. That should take care of them.
Reply:welcome
Reply:OK SO IF MEDOL HAS BEEN OUT THEIR ALL NIGHT .

THROW A DAM brick through the van window. and make him make you a cup of hot chocky and

a few bickies, and tell him to get his heap of shitt out of the neighbour hood.

ok medol you know i am joking right.
Reply:a lot of ruckus to chase them away
Reply:I agree

a fruit basket is appropriate, as is a potted plant--say--a flowering plant
Reply:Cold beer.
Reply:No wine for Muslims! .. a basket with other goodies should do
Reply:A fruit basket.
Reply:a plant or flower in a beatiful vase like orchid or bonsai.

I have a gift basket business, looking to make the site better with more content and whatever else.?
Hi, Sylvia,

First, cut and paste this link into additional details on your question and make it VERY easy for an answerer to get to your site. You might get more answers.

http://www.basketsgalorebysylvia.com

I'd like to be able to see enlargements of the pics, too.

Got some other stuff to do like take medications (I'm old and disabled) and I'll come back after a better look.

Reply:Hi,

It _is_ a little sparse. I've put a link in below which collects together a whole bunch of resources for gift basket businesses that are just starting out.

You also might like to consider doing some detailed keyword research to find out what buyers are actually looking for (i.e. baby shower gift baskets) and targeting those.

These techniques are collected together in a great eBook (AdSense Keyword and Research Guide) that you can access from http://keywordcracker.blogspot.com - just look in the top right for the link. The blog itself often has great hints %26amp; tips!

I also have two tips just for you. One, remember that traffic does not equate to sales. You need to rank for traffic that has a high conversion rate (i.e. you are looking to turn visitors into customers).

The low hanging fruit in this case is those customers who are looking to buy something - either in a niche or in your particular geographic location. So, look for 'baby shower gift basket' or 'gif basket jacksonville'.

Second tip - dominate through content and social marketing. Content marketing requires writing, or hiring a writer, to write about niche gift baskets, using keywords that you have researched.

Social marketing, in this context, means making the most of web 2.0 services like Twitter, Facebook, SlideShare, YouTube, Propeller, Blogger and so on, to drive traffic. The search engines love to see content pointing from all these services to one place - your gift basket web site.

If you need some elaboration on any of the above, please do not hesitate to get in touch through my profile. Just click my name, or email me direct (leckyt@yahoo.com).

Best of luck;

Guy

What kind of gift basket can I give my neighbors for helping me out?

A breakfast-type of gift basket (with breakfast goodies in it)

A coffee-type of gift basked (include a Starbuck's card)

A gardening gift basket if you know they like to garden.

You could really go crazy with this one. I like to make my own gift baskets and personalize them for that persons likes/interests.

I love these and they taste great! Fresh and beautiful..it'll make an awesome Mother's Day Present! They have melon ones too! The only downside is that it's slightly expensive :( ... But you should still give it a try!

http://www.ediblearrangements.com/

Another slightly expensive place that has the best gift baskets in the world (in my humble opinion) are those from Harry and David, but I doubt they have melons. I've tried their cheeses, pears, apples, popcorn and chocolate...deeelicious! Def worth a try :)

Ideas for beach wedding gift basket? (Ideas in general?)?

We're having our wedding in Oregon (where I grew and half my family still loves) on the coast. Most of our guest will be traveling from Ohio and may stay for at least the weekend, some for a whole week. We obviously will not be able to entertain them the entire week but will have get togethers and events the weekend of the wedding.

Instead of a tin of mints or some favor that will be thrown out anyways I'm having the hotel put gift baskets in all the rooms of our guests. I want to include things like bottels of water, sunscreen and a lst of locations to visit and things to do in the area (with directions and contact info). But I'm at a loss on other things to include as well as what to put everything in.

I am on a budget but I dont have too many guests and it will be one basket per couple/family). Any idead would be greatly appriciated.

Also any beach wedding ideas or experiances would be lovely.

Thanks so much!

Ideas for beach wedding gift basket? (Ideas in general?)?
Squirt guns for the kids

Local candy (salt water taffy maybe?)

Sunblock

local guidebook

a half bottle of wine (for the adults) or local beer from a brewery

pari of cheap sunglasses

Blow up beach ball

Sun hat

Monogram each one with either your and your hubbies initials or the last initial of the guests that are receving the bag.

Put it all in a big tote bag or straw bag...or to make it even cuter have it all in a sand pail like this...

http://www.findgift.com/gift-ideas/pid-5...
Reply:Do shaped cookies (star fish, fish, shells, etc) or soaps. Cheap flip flops would be cute (they are only $2-5 at Walmart or someplace like that). Go to your local dollar store and see what they have there.
Reply:The ideas mentioned above are great! I plan to do welcome bags too...we aren't in such a great theme locale, but ours will be in July 2008, so I can include summery details. I also plan to have a little packet of recommendations of things to do: what movies are showing at the theater, recommended restaurants, parks-little places that have meant a lot to us. That way they aren't stuck in the hotel while the wedding party is busily getting things done.

I plan on having kids invited to the wedding, and my plan is to have little mini fun pails for the kids under age 8 with coloring book, crayons and little dollar store fun things to give them a little something to do when they are getting antsy...

Dollar stores are great for that sort of thing...splurge on an item or two in the baskets, but otherwise stay to the inexpensive: in this case the gesture really is so sweet-going through all the trouble of finding which hotels they are at, working with the front desk to get the bags in there, etc....it's all those little things that show your guests that they matter.
Reply:how about a beach bag or something or and a towel with your wedding date and your names a beach bag can also or have your name and date of wedding
Reply:A local map, lip balm, sunglasses, towel, sunscreen, flip flops, ...intead of baskets, try putting the items in a tote bag, it would be more useful and will go along well with your beach theme.

Good luck and congrats
Reply:I think it would be really cute to put some kind of scavenger hunt in there... and have a small gift for the winning family/s. Maybe some kind of list of places to visit, you could go to the places ahead of time %26amp; let them know you will have people coming by, and leave a stamp or a clue to the next place for them.
Reply:Cheapo flip flops from the dollar store. Something from the Made in Oregon stores would be nice too. I LOVE the saltwater taffy.
Reply:Wear sandals.
Reply:disposable cameras, dollar store flip flops.... if there are kids, shovel and pail....
Reply:I like the idea of water and sunscreen! Some fun sunglasses, flip-flops, a couple of dollars in a pretty envelope that says "For Ice Cream on the Beach!" would round out the basket. Also, I like the idea from the other answerer about a shovel and pail for those with children.

Ideas for a gift basket?

I am not really sure what to get my step-mother for Christmas, so I had the idea to get a purse or a cute basket and fill it up with little neat things. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of what to put in the basket? I already figured I would get some lotion %26amp; body spray, but I don't want to make a generic gift basket. What would you like to get if someone make you a gift basket?

Ideas for a gift basket?
How about a theme? A movie basket (ideas: movie tickets, dvd, blcobuster gift card, movie candy, popcorn, etc); a night out (perfume, lotion, cityguide, sparkly earrings, tickets somewhere); a night in (book, candle, fun socks, pizza gift card, cd);

You do a theme based on her fav sports team, hobby, even color.
Reply:bath and body work lotion and spray, lip gloss, hair brush and comb, hair accesories and maybe some little jewlery!
Reply:GO with the basket;

Lotion

Lip gloss

Bath salts or something like that

Some cute slippers

A nice book of poems or light reading

Candy

Finger nail polish

New manicure set
Reply:Well personally I'm into movies so I think it would be really cool to get a gift basket with a movie or two, and some snacks.

It really depends on what your Step-mother likes. If she's into spa things, give her ones YOU'VE made (there are tons of places online that tell you how to), or if she'd prefer reading give her a book and some homemade chocolate truffles (again, just look online). Part of the point of a gift is showing that you put thought and effort into it. Hope I helped!

Maybe try being sentimental with it. Think back to all the special moments in your relationship so far. Then put in something to represent each moment.
Reply:beer, condoms, wallet-sized nudies, etc,,,

What are some unique and considerate gift ideas for a person in the hospital?

My friend recently began dating a man who was in a terrible accident yesterday and suffered a severe leg injury. She wants to bring him a basket of thoughtful gifts, what should she include?

What are some unique and considerate gift ideas for a person in the hospital?
hand held games... wal mart has some for 10 dollars... hangman, battleship, yahtzee... so on

magazines, depending on the sex... im in my 20's and i played with paper dolls and coloring books when i was in the hospital for awhile haha
Reply:If he is going to be in the hospital for a while - real food is nice (but check with doctor first to make sure he can have it.) Reading material is always nice. Get him a box of sharpies so every one can sign the cast.

I need help with a birthday gift for my mom. It is going to be her 50th birthday and we live in seperate?

states. I have already sent her picture gifts, gift baskets, gift certificates, and all that kind of sentimental stuff for other holidays. She has everything she needs and wants!!! Any ideas?!

I need help with a birthday gift for my mom. It is going to be her 50th birthday and we live in seperate?
I would want my child to come and visit.
Reply:Consider simply sending a nice card and making a donation in her name to a charity she cares about.

Or, how about fresh flowers? They will only be around for about a week, they smell great, and they won't clutter up her house. http://www.1800.flowers has great choices--including a birthday cake made out of flowers! http://ww12.1800flowers.com/product.do?b...

Or, a gift card for $50 to a store she really likes.

Or--and this might be hard to send, but it's fun--50 dollars, 50 quarters, 50 dimes, 50 nickels, and 50 pennies.

50 is the "golden" birthday, so a pair of new gold earrings or a gold ring would be nice as well. Even if she doesn't need them, it's nice to have new jewelry from time to time. Or, you could put together a charm bracelet of charms that are meaningful to your relationship with your Mom.

I agree that a visit would be great, but that's not always an option. If you are close, consider getting video attachments for your computers (if she has one) so you can talk to each other and see your conversations. (These are not too expensive anymore.) http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-961410-04...
Reply:Have had a 50th celebration, and by this age, a day at the Spa would be a perfect day of nothing but pampering! Trust me, a facial, massage, and making you feel like a million is a huge treat at this age. Happy Birthday mom!
Reply:Have her have a custom perfume made with Mandy Aftel or another artisan perfumer.
Reply:If she likes music i'd get her the Bose Wave Music System.

Just got one for my Mom and she uses it everyday. She loves it due to the simple operation and fantastic sound.

I bought it with my credit card and only pay $42 a month.

Worth every penny.
Reply:you should get her diamond earrings!!!

and give it to her yourself!!!!

she will be kicked out off her mind :)

Homemade gift basket ideas?

I would like to make my brother and sister-in-law a homemade fun, possibly themed, gift basket for Christmas. They don't have any particular hobbies or activities they do, so I can't narrow it down like that. My brother and I usually spend about $60-70 on each other (we buy "couple" gifts rather than individual). Do you have any fun ideas?

Homemade gift basket ideas?
We got this as a wedding present and I absolutely LOVED it. A silver pail lined with two kitchen hand towels. Inside the pail there were spices, sauces, pickles, recipes, tongs, sea salt, fresh pepper, etc. All of it was for grilling out! It was the best ever. It also contained two homemade sauces from the giver. You could also incorporate nice steaks, potatoes, salad mix, etc. into the same kind of basket. I'm tellin' you...we loved this...if they like to grill out, of course!
Reply:...yes, ..."can always use" basket.........fill the basket with house hold items that people always run out of when you need it.......such as scotch tape....paper clips,...pens and pencils, markers.....anytime greeting cards...(so they always have a card on hand).....magnetic grocery list pads, for fridge......throw in a couple of nice lotions, for him and her....and also include a gift certificate to their favorite coffee shop, ......or restaurant....and top it off with a tin of their favorite home made cookies....Pretty much any little household items, that many use but forget to pick up for themselves...

I do it for my mom and dad every year....cus they have everything they need, ...and this stuff can always be used.....

Theres so much to be creative with this kind of basket and it sure beats the old, wine and cheese or jams and jellys...etc..
Reply:i think lots of cool foods and cheeses .......fishing items, hunting, what ever sports they like, with matching colored items for her like jewerly ,ect ect
Reply:How about movie night. with a few movies, popcorn maybe some kinda of drink.. gift card to pizza place, that might be fun..

Or u can do local resturaunts and get 5 different gift cards for 10- 15 dollars so they will want to go and than you can do something like candy and food like chips and salsa just to make it look cool.

Movie tickes and food.. that always fun
Reply:Do they like to play board or card games? If so, you could put together a cute basket of differnt games they could play.
Reply:How about a nice dvd they can watch together. Two mugs. Hot Chocolate sachets, marshmallows, popcorn, chocolates and a blanket for them to snuggle under.

Alternativeley:-

Red wine/port

Crackers

Bruchetta

Cheeses

Pickles

Chutneys

Or

Champers

Strawberries

Some funny bedroom games - nothing to hardcore - u are his sister afterall!
Reply:Choose one thing that you know they both like to do for fun and theme it that way with special little things that they can use. I would have to know what they like to do for fun as well as ages to really give some ideas though.
Reply:You can do:

-Movie Night Gift Basket: popcorn, candy, pj's, slippers, gift card to blockbuster...anything else

Bath Gift Basket

Use a nice basket

- Epsom salts or bubble bath

- Aroma therapy oils

- Scented candles and holders

Put items in the basket that would be specific to each family member or get a wide variety of items from a 99 cent or discount store and fill the basket. Different stores have different interesting items!

What kind of st. valentines day gift basket should I give to my wife?

By Kind I mean Gourmet St valentines day gift basket or wine st valentines day gift baskets or chocolates st valentines day gift baskets and what sort of stuff should I add into that basket

What kind of st. valentines day gift basket should I give to my wife?
Gift baskets can say a lot about what you feel for your valnetine , male or female .

Gift baskets if made thoughtfully can never go wrong if you cherry pick the things with a special thought or mood or a theme for the evening.

I read an intesrting post about that on a website a few days ago which says a lot about what goes on in making a goog gift basket

Always personalize and think ahead , never give up and try to be creative ..

I know a lot of people will say that to you about being creative but check this here to see how to be creative

PS : it takes some effort for you to pick a nice st valentines day gift basket
Reply:through in a few picte of you tow together to persoallize the basket
Reply:one year my husband did a fabulous gift basket for me. It was sort of a "you look beautiful" kind of theme I guess, if I had to name it.

It had a really pretty little nightgown, which of course when you fold them up are small, my favorite lipstick, my favorite lotion, ( he must have checked them out in my purse)

A super cute stuffed animal and some nice candy, and he also put a nice bracelet in there. But you don't have to spend a lot, just make her know that you really thought about what SHE would like.
Reply:A nice basket idea would be to fill it with some items from a Bath %26amp; Spa store, like they have at the mall. They will also have baskets already made up for holidays. ?
Reply:For most women incorporating memories into gifts is wonderful. A CD of a song that you enjoyed together. A Wine you drank on a particular night out. A Dessert she had with you that she really enjoyed. A piece of jewelry she commented on but wouldn't expect you to buy. A card with a heartfelt note about how you feel about her and your relationship. Sentimental stuff means the most.

I'm making a gift basket for my boyfriend's Valentine's Day present, but I'm not sure what to put in it.

I've already decided on a framed photo of us together, chocolate, and nice cologne, but what else should I add? This is going to be a large gift basket; the kind you see at silent auctions and such. We're 17 and have been dating for almost two years. We're not sexually active, so obviously I don't plan on including anything that has to do with sexual intercourse. We do, however, engage in other sexual activities. He likes paintball, but to be honest, I know nothing about it and I have no idea what to buy him if I include anything dealing with paintball. I would like to include items that are practical, but also show that I love him and take notice of his interests. Any ideas, please?

a cool t-shirt rolled up tight, with a red ribbon tied around it.

A cool pair of mens loungepants/pajama bottom type things for when he sleeps- (it will keep him thinking of you)

You may also want to give him and yourself each a book- He will really appreciate this one if you do and realize how much you really care- 'the ten stupid things women do to mess up their lives and the ten stupid things men do to mess up their lives" both by Dr Laura Slesinger. You can review the books at any bookstore because they were on the best sellers list for a long time. If you do not get the books now get them later and at the very least read the one for women. He would see you as a very smart and caring babe.

A gift card to jamba juice.
Reply:if he likes coffee try it and he might take a new wallet and some money.
Reply:movies, cds, a stuffed animal sprayed with your perfume, if he likes a certain sport or team you could get him tickets to a game or a hat or shirt of his fave team...um....candles, a wallet, a new razor....u could burn a cd of songs that remind you of him...make some "love coupons" of stuff you are comfortable doing (like movie night on you or cuddling time)...or a book that is cute and romantic...good luck!

Reply:Get him a subscription to a Paintball magazine. APG, Paintball International. Its cheap and he will get his paintball fix all year and think of you every time he picks it up.
Reply:I think it's more than enough. Too much. A photo, candy AND cologne is plenty for a 17 year old boy. It's not Christmas, it's supposed to be a token of your love.

PS If you engage in sexual activities you ARE sexually active my dear.

Im looking to starting a gourmet gift basket business from home...?

I starting a gift basket business from home and wanted everyones input on a certain topic. I have come up with a name for the business, but am decideing if i should register it with the county and state right now. I dont want to form an LLC and if the busincess fails go loose all the money just to form the LLC and then have to close it as well. The reason i would use an LLC is because incase someone gets sick or is allergic to peanuts or something and decides to come after me. Or is there something else i could do for the time being? any advice??

Since you are selling food you need to contact the health department and get a permit from them.

Starting a gourmet gift basket business from home, need liability issurance?

does anyone know of where i can get a good deal on business issurance. i just need liability issurance. i do the business from my spare room in my home. also how much do you think i should be covered for in this type of business. 1 million?

Starting a gourmet gift basket business from home, need liability issurance?
I'd suggest asking the company you already have insurance with. You may get a discount for having another type of insurance with them. I don't know how much to be covered for, that's something you'd have to ask them. But I'd think at least $100,000 would be safe, maybe more. $1 million seems really high. Check with wahm.com. I think there are some women who have this kind of business there. I sell Watkins kitchen products and can do gourmet baskets with their products (something I'm considering for fairs) but since I'm already an ind. associate with them and it's their products, I don't worry about insurance stuff. Best wishes to you!
Reply:I almost always suggest companies get liability insurance, but I am not sure how a basket can possibly lead to a lawsuit. Wait until you are profitable and then worry about the insurance. I'm sure you may think of some way you could get sued, and if that is the case definetely look into getting liability insurance.

But, I can't think of a single possible way someone can sue you, though I'm sure where there is a will - there is a way!

If you're already profitable then the cost of insurance shouldn't matter. If you're not profitable I would say wait. It's hard to get sued when you have barely sold a single basket. If your company is incorporated you need not get liability insurance unless the corporation has assets you value.
Reply:why dont you check with the company you have your homeowners with?
Reply:Dont be a dic, why would you need insurance

I understand the word "hamper" is British. What's its American equivalent, besides gift basket?

I have never heard the word "hamper" used as a gift basket. Only as a laundry hamper (container for dirty clothes.) Or to hinder or prevent something from happening.

Great idea to add book and dvd to a gift basket. My suggestion, books, anything Jodi Picoult writes is fantastic, good DVDs Freedom Writers, Death At A funeral, Waitress, Snowcake.......

How in the world do I gift wrap THAT???

I've got an ironing board and two laundry baskets that I need to gift wrap for a bridal shower. Any clues as to how I can tastefully do that?

How in the world do I gift wrap THAT???
I would just put a ribbon/bow around them...no paper...
Reply:thats a challenge to wrap but hm if you really want to be tasteful i suggest you get a large exercise gym set box put the ironing board in it and wrap it up they will surely be surprised!!! Well am just saying good luck though.
Reply:the baskets shouldn't be hard... wrap them like a box... and maybe just put a ribbon and bow on the board...
Reply:If you really want to wrap the ironing board, they do have tasteful colors in garbage bags now.....lavender, blue and so forth. You could get some of the bags (large ones) and put the bag on the board from either end and tape them together in the middle.....there you have giant gift wrap. Add a bow and you are done.
Reply:Tie a cute apron around the middle of the ironing board (there's NO WAY you can hide what the darned thing is anyway) and put a bow on the pointed top. Tie ribbons on the handles of the baskets and put a matching stick on bow on the middle of the front. There's no reason to try to hide what these things are...just make them festive looking.
Reply:I would get the big bicycle bags for the laundry baskets - you can find them at most big stores - walmart etc. and if the ironing board lays flat just get a huge roll of gift wrap %26amp; wrap it like a regular present - or another bike bag.
Reply:I think getting them a gift card from that store would work better than the baskets and ironing board.

I'm sure you mean well, but it seems like an odd gift, unless it was specifically requested.
Reply:Cut out a photo of an ironing board and two laundry baskets and make a nice note telling the bride that the Items are in you car. place all in a small box and gift wrap in pretty paper. When you go to the shower leave the items in you car, SUV etc with nice Bows on them and give the bride to be the box to open after all the gifts are opened go collect the items for the bride.
Reply:Get a box big enough to hold the board and another box for the baskets. Stick one basket inside the other.

Should be easy after that.
Reply:a big bow for the ironing board and um for the two laundry baskets, but one inside the other...and buy a whole bunch of small stuff like kitchen rags, dish soap, laundry soap..you konw house hold products..get some nice colorful celephane.. (sp?) wrap it up put a contrasting bow, fromt the one on the ironing board around the baskets..and you have a extra big and cute gift basket with a ironing board. Mayn that sounds like a good idea..i surprise myself sometimes!!!

Hope whatever you decide works!!
Reply:ummmmmmm

put a bow on the ironing board.

and you could lilttle girfts in one laundry basket and stack them tg with a bow.

Holiday gift ideas for someone who's Jewish?

I'm making small gift baskets for my coworkers with desserts in them for the holidays. One of my coworkers is Jewish. I don't want him to feel left out but I don't know what to get him since a) he doesn't celebrate Christmas and b) I don't cook according to Kosher tradition. When we have holiday parties, he comes but doesn't really participate because of kosher law. Does anyone have an idea of what I can get him so he doesn't feel left out on purpose?

Holiday gift ideas for someone who's Jewish?
Get him a bunch of thin taper candles, so then he can use 'em at Haunnaka.
Reply:Just in case anyone is still researching this idea. You can go here

http://www.nojustflowersdelive... and there are several companies on this page and you can click on any gift basket to go to the retailers adn they have lots of jewish and kosher products available. Report It
Reply:Most supermarkets have a Kosher section. Maybe you can go there and find some non-perishable items such as crackers, cookies, etc. The Kosher section is small and may be hard to locate. Ask the customer service people to direct you to that area.

Good luck!
Reply:www.redenvelope.com

has a great crystal dreidel

but i assume that's a little over the top

maybe you can find one a little less expensive somewhere else?
Reply:There are many websites for kosher candies and cookies. If he is ultra Conservative, find a box of Hanukkah candles at a bookstore or supermarket, a toy top called a dreidle, and a book of some Hanukkah stories or cookie cutters in star shapes or candle shapes can all go into a Hanukkah gift basket. You could even pack a basket with ribbons in blue and silver and tape and Hanukkah papers for him to pack his own gifts to his family. A sort of gift wrap basket.

Its nice to see that you would include him in your plans, just remember that Hanukkah comes at a different time than Christmas, and plan accordingly.

Cookies are only Kosher if they have a K or a U in a circle on the box. Regular cookies are not Kosher if they have been baked on pans not cleaned with Kosher soap. No orthodox Jew would take the chance of ingesting something he was unsure about.

If you do buy him something edible from the store leave the package unopened.
Reply:Give him a small assortment of blue and white candles or some potpourri.
Reply:Go to a specialty or gourmet foods store and buy a bag of candy- coated almonds, a big piece of angel food cake, an orange and/or banana and a kosher candy bar. Kosher items have a U or K written near the ingredients on the labels. Ask the clerks for help. He will enjoy your thoughtfulness.
Reply:Go to wal-mart and buy a box of matza (its cheap) put some cheese on it for him/her ^_^ Just dont buy wine, thats bad :P

If this person is orthodox that means there is a jewish community near by, if you want to go out of your way thoes places always have a judica store with hunkkah stuff
Reply:A small box of kosher candies would be nice... or some food product from Israel, we export some nice things from here.....
Reply:Just leave him alone. He doesn't want to participate. Don't force your holiday on other people.
Reply:How about a jar of kosher pickles.
Reply:How about something that's not related if you know nothing about their religon. So how about, a card or something.
Reply:Make him cookies that in shape of a Jewish Star!
