I would like to make my brother and sister-in-law a homemade fun, possibly themed, gift basket for Christmas. They don't have any particular hobbies or activities they do, so I can't narrow it down like that. My brother and I usually spend about $60-70 on each other (we buy "couple" gifts rather than individual). Do you have any fun ideas?
Homemade gift basket ideas?
We got this as a wedding present and I absolutely LOVED it. A silver pail lined with two kitchen hand towels. Inside the pail there were spices, sauces, pickles, recipes, tongs, sea salt, fresh pepper, etc. All of it was for grilling out! It was the best ever. It also contained two homemade sauces from the giver. You could also incorporate nice steaks, potatoes, salad mix, etc. into the same kind of basket. I'm tellin' you...we loved this...if they like to grill out, of course!
Reply:...yes, ..."can always use" basket.........fill the basket with house hold items that people always run out of when you need it.......such as scotch tape....paper clips,...pens and pencils, markers.....anytime greeting cards...(so they always have a card on hand).....magnetic grocery list pads, for fridge......throw in a couple of nice lotions, for him and her....and also include a gift certificate to their favorite coffee shop, ......or restaurant....and top it off with a tin of their favorite home made cookies....Pretty much any little household items, that many use but forget to pick up for themselves...
I do it for my mom and dad every year....cus they have everything they need, ...and this stuff can always be used.....
Theres so much to be creative with this kind of basket and it sure beats the old, wine and cheese or jams and jellys...etc..
Reply:i think lots of cool foods and cheeses .......fishing items, hunting, what ever sports they like, with matching colored items for her like jewerly ,ect ect
Reply:How about movie night. with a few movies, popcorn maybe some kinda of drink.. gift card to pizza place, that might be fun..
Or u can do local resturaunts and get 5 different gift cards for 10- 15 dollars so they will want to go and than you can do something like candy and food like chips and salsa just to make it look cool.
Movie tickes and food.. that always fun
Reply:Do they like to play board or card games? If so, you could put together a cute basket of differnt games they could play.
Reply:How about a nice dvd they can watch together. Two mugs. Hot Chocolate sachets, marshmallows, popcorn, chocolates and a blanket for them to snuggle under.
Alternativeley:-
Red wine/port
Crackers
Bruchetta
Cheeses
Pickles
Chutneys
Or
Champers
Strawberries
Some funny bedroom games - nothing to hardcore - u are his sister afterall!
Reply:Choose one thing that you know they both like to do for fun and theme it that way with special little things that they can use. I would have to know what they like to do for fun as well as ages to really give some ideas though.
