Gift basket ideas for someone in a nursing home?

A photo album or frame with pictures of yourself and your family.

A videotape recording of you and your family

Videos for them to watch (if they have a VCR)

CD of music you think they'll like (Make a mix of what you have or download from itunes.) Add a cheap CD player if they don't have one.

Little boxes of raisins or other soft, healthy food they can probably eat. (There are now dried blueberries, and other dried fruits that are really good. Just make sure they're soft and not too chewy.)

Large-print playing cards

Warm slipper socks with no-skid bottoms.

Fleece blanket

A flameless candle http://brookstone.com/store/product.asp?...

A nice hand-written card

Reply:It really depends on what their health is like. Food is good if they don't have allergies and aren't on restricted diets. You might also do nice smelling lotions or soaps. You could give books or crosswords puzzles.

But really, the best gift that you can give someone in a nursing home is your time. They really don't have the need for things anymore, but they would really appreciate your company.
