It _is_ a little sparse. I've put a link in below which collects together a whole bunch of resources for gift basket businesses that are just starting out.



You also might like to consider doing some detailed keyword research to find out what buyers are actually looking for (i.e. baby shower gift baskets) and targeting those.

I also have two tips just for you. One, remember that traffic does not equate to sales. You need to rank for traffic that has a high conversion rate (i.e. you are looking to turn visitors into customers).



The low hanging fruit in this case is those customers who are looking to buy something - either in a niche or in your particular geographic location. So, look for 'baby shower gift basket' or 'gif basket jacksonville'.



Second tip - dominate through content and social marketing. Content marketing requires writing, or hiring a writer, to write about niche gift baskets, using keywords that you have researched.



Social marketing, in this context, means making the most of web 2.0 services like Twitter, Facebook, SlideShare, YouTube, Propeller, Blogger and so on, to drive traffic. The search engines love to see content pointing from all these services to one place - your gift basket web site.
