What are some good ideas for a "family fun night" gift basket?

I have already purchased a small family game they can play together (and it's decorative, as well, so it can stay on the bookshelf), and have plans to include a gift certificate for their favorite pizzeria. They're really not a junk food family (eat very healthy), so I don't want to just overload with snacks. They've got playing cards, etc. I'm just looking for something altogether that will make for a quirky, fun gift for a family of three that needs a little more "togetherness" that doesn't revolve around Dad's laptop, or him taking control of the TV.

What are some good ideas for a "family fun night" gift basket?
Since you already given them a gift certificate to their favorite place to eat, you can also get a gift certificate to the movies, bowling if they have them, .... Spencer's has different things, but it is worth a shot, plus you might find some kind of gag gift for them. (to me it is more of a store for an adult, my opinion) why don't you try a party store, you might find something there. Another game if they don't have it, but I am sure they do, is Yahtzee. That is a fun family game, and if they take road trips, why not find something they can take along and play in the vehicle. AAA has some things for road trips. Go to a hobby store model cars they can put together or even try some crafts, and there are many puzzles to do as a family.
Reply:A small dry erase board is great for family fun night. This way, when playing score driven games they can keep score without going through paper...environmentally help full for sure, but also very convenient

Extra sets of dice are a must. I don't know if game trolls come out at night or what..because I just don't understand where all the dice keep getting off to!

I know you said they have cards, but if you play with them allot, they get worn out quickly and another set on hand is never a bad thing.

Make them a trivia game. If you are close to the family, personalize your gift with an index card getting to know you game...ex. Little Bobby's 1st tooth was when he was...... Mom's (name) nickname when she was little was ...... I did this for a family member and it was a hoot.

Go to your local Dollar tree. (or your area equivalent) You can purchase all kinds of games in the toy section for a buck each. This are great stocking stuffers and basket fillers.

I wish all families had family fun night, as a mom of 3 (4 if you include my husband) I know how much they mean. Great idea!

Happy Holidays!
Reply:get them toys r us gift cards
Reply:It really does depend on how much you want to spend, but maybe a gift certificate for the movies or putt putt golf etc
Reply:They may have cards, but a book on different card games might be an answer. What about a checker board, from say the dollar store. What about throwing in a crossword puzzle book they can all work on.Scrabble can be fun.Jigsaw puzzles are also something they can work on-As for snacks, popcorn, nuts, are a healthy treat.I hope this helps.
Reply:What a great idea!! I would include a Blockbuster gift card, some sugar free hot cocoa and a box of popcorn in addition to the items you have.
